Soil translocations

Soils within intact natural systems contain seed banks that are a diverse source of native plant species and genetics. When successfully harnessed, soil seed banks provide a valuable resource for indigenous vegetation management. Toolijooa's Special Projects team provides full services and management for the translocation and rehabilitation of topsoils containing a viable native seed bank, from development sites within natural areas to alternate rehabilitation sites. Removed soils can also be stockpiled and replaced in the event of short-term disturbance associated with site works. Services include consultancy, planning, local plant salvage, heavy machinery hygiene, horizon-by-horizon topsoil removal, stockpiling, relocation, reapplication and maintenance.
